| During the 1930s jewelry began to incorporate flowers, bows and sunburst designs from previous periods of jewelry. During this time these designs began to feature an added “Hollywood flair”. This sterling silver bow is held between two 10 karat gold bangles. Sterling silver is a white precious metal made of 92.5% of pure silver and 7.5% of alloy, usually copper. The name sterling silver comes from present day Germany where it was used for trade as early as the 12th century.
